BERSERK
BERSERK stands as a testament to our desire to engage in the mysterious. It is a simultaneously absurd and sincere exploration into trance states and the somatic experience of the mythopoetic. Amid Brutalist monolithic architecture, modern bodies shape-shift, traverse various terrains and undergo threshold experiences to craft an engaging narrative in collaboration with present creative forces. Victory to the Primordial Mother.
Berserk unfolds as a groundbreaking dance theatre project led by Jag Popham. This multifaceted project comprises a solo performance and a larger group iteration, both delving into the depths of human expression and the mysteries of the psyche. In the solo rendition, Jag Popham invites audiences into a captivating journey through a faerie doorway into the animate, where safety comes third to freedom and curiosity. Following this, the group iteration expands on the theme, weaving together the talents of a diverse ensemble to transform a brutalist monolithic landscape into a dynamic, immersive space. BERSERK is an invitation to experience the raw, unfiltered essence of the human spirit where creativity reigns supreme.
