Subject to Change
Choreographed by Isabella Hood, in collaboration with Jag popham (dancer and composer)
This work is a multidisciplinary performance piece inspired by Viktor E. Frankl's book Man's Search for Meaning. The performance follows a lone individual contending with personal vices amid a constantly shifting landscape. Through dance, theatre, music, and poetry, the performance explores the protagonist's journey of grappling with inner conflicts and the search for release. Socially and politically charged, the piece delves into a myriad of coping mechanisms used to find comfort and assign value to life, challenging societal structures and behavioural norms in the face of adversity. Overall, Subject to Change prompts reflection on individual resilience and the diverse ways people navigate challenges in a world that is ever-transforming.
